Feb 16, 2012 There is a fuseable link on the heavy wire, not the battery cable, going to the hot terminal of the solenoid. It should show 12 volts when your key is in the crank postion. The diagram sucks and they should have used the universal 3 bar symbol but that is the ground. Took starter back to autozone and repeat from my original question. Special tools are available which can help ease plug wire removal, and prevent damage to a cable. The wiring harness layed back on the new motor and was easy but the vacuum lines through me for a loop I had to look at my pics. The remote starter solenoid is located on the passenger-side fenderwell.

Route the wire exactly the same as the original. There should be power just when the key is in the start position and no power when in the run position. If you jumper the red wire to the black, you are bypassing the relay. If no click is heard then check the opposite side of the solenoid at the 4-gauge wire going to the starter. A vise helps hold the starter. I'm thinking you had the positve hooked up right before but mistakinly connected the crank to the power lead output to the starter motor instead of the crank terminal.
