She is happy to talk with people, specifically about her massage or about massage in general. Hot Rocks are incorporated into her specialties of Swedish, Deep Tissue, Treatment work and Sports Massage.
If someone else wanted the time that you scheduled, the therapists loses the ability to make money for that time. We don't allow food or drink, glass containers, or use of cell phones inside. Use closed storage cabinets for most of your items to eliminate clutter, but use open shelf storage for things you need easy access to and that won't be an eyesore, such as oils and lotions. To soften a hard floor surface, put down a plush area rug. As a therapist, you also need at least 3 feet of space around every side of the table to work in.
Some therapists use a larger table to accommodate taller clients or their own preferences and body mechanics, but start there as a minimum. Choose subdued, tasteful artwork and a few accessories for the room. Use a small but high-quality sound system to play soft music. This translates to a room that is about 120 to 140 square feet. So plan ahead if you can! We require a 24 hour notice to cancel your massage. A well-designed massage studio helps your client relax and helps you do your job more effectively. If you cancel with less than 24 hours before your massage, we ask that you pay for the time you scheduled.
Creating a tranquil, relaxed and safe environment is one of the ways massage therapists help their clients. A dimmer switch allows you to adjust the amount of light as needed or as requested by the client. Do not come in if you have been drinking alcohol or using drugs. The room should also be sound insulated to provide a quiet atmosphere and comfortably warm since your clients are undressed and sedentary. Depending on the emphasis of your work, anatomy or reflexology charts can lend credibility to your massage studio. Room Requirements Massage table dimensions vary, but a standard table is about 30 inches wide and 73 inches long, plus about 12 more inches for the head cradle. If you are pregnant, have any health concerns such as diabetes, heart conditions, or high blood pressure, or if you are on prescription medication, consult with your doctor before using the hot tub, sauna, or steam room.
Use soft lighting from lamps or an indirect overhead source that is not directly over the massage table. Choose wood, vinyl tile or cushioned flooring rather than a hard surface, such as tile, for your own comfort. Cool down and drink water between heat sources. Soft, neutral colors promote a relaxed mood. Candles are okay, but don't place them where they could be knocked over, and use a light scent that wont irritate sensitive clients. A full house is common during 'peak hours' of 6 - 9pm. Lighting If your room has windows, provide filtered lighting with adjustable blinds. We take walk-ins when there are openings but the schedule often fills up.
Conversation must be kept at a whisper. Add to that enough space for storage, a sink and counter space, seating and room for the door to comfortably open and close. Sitting on a towel is required for your personal health and hygiene and for the cleanliness of the spa. Free your mind, soothe your body. . When designing a home massage room, always bear in mind the comfort of your client, as well as yourself, the therapist. All sessions are designed to meet the individual's needs. Some storage can be placed outside the room to save space inside, such as the bulk of your clean linens, larger equipment and bulk lotion and oils.
